In short

Video editing is the process of assembling raw footage into a finished piece with a defined narrative, rhythm and delivery format. Tugi edits commercials, music videos, live performances and social content, including sound clean-up, subtitles and graphics. Edit-only projects shot by another crew are accepted.

Well-shot material dies in a bad edit, and average material survives a good one. The edit is where you decide how long a shot holds, which line gets cut and whether the viewer is still there after three seconds.

Once raw footage, audio files and any brand guidelines arrive, a rough cut comes first. After the structure is approved, the fine cut adds sound clean-up and levelling, subtitles and graphics. Colour is available as a separate stage or bundled with the edit.

Editing for social is not just cropping a landscape video: the vertical version is reframed, subtitles are written for sound-off viewing and the opening is restructured around the first three seconds.

How it works

  1. 1. Material handover

Raw footage, audio, logo and brand guidelines arrive via a transfer link.

  2. 2. Rough cut

Narrative structure and running time are set. No colour or graphics yet — what gets approved here is the structure.

  3. 3. Fine cut

Cut rhythm, audio levelling, subtitles and graphics are added.

  4. 4. Revisions

Two rounds, worked from timecoded notes.

  5. 5. Delivery

All channel formats and the subtitle file are delivered together.

Frequently asked questions

Can you edit footage I shot myself?

Yes — it is one of the most common requests. Send the raw files and any audio. Telling me the capture format and frame rate up front shortens the turnaround.

How long does an edit take?

Short social content takes a few days; a multi-camera performance or commercial takes 1–3 weeks. The drivers are volume of material and how fast revision rounds come back.

How many revisions are included?

Two rounds after the first cut are standard. Requests that restructure the piece count as a new round and are quoted separately.

Is colour grading included in the edit?

No — colour is a separate stage and a separate service. It can be bundled with the edit into one package.
