In short

Virtual try-on is an AI application that visualises how a product looks on a model without a physical shoot. This study generated fashion product imagery across different models, poses and environments, with the goal of reducing the per-product cost of imagery for e-commerce stores.

Imagery is one of the highest recurring costs in e-commerce. Studio shooting every product, every variant, every season is not sustainable for a mid-size store. This study tested how much of that cost AI could absorb.

The result drew a clear line: AI is effective at generating overall look and styling combinations, but it does not replace a real shoot where fabric texture and product detail accuracy matter. The practical use is a combination — the hero product image from a shoot, styling and environment variations from generation.
